Abstract
In September 2022, Singkawang City experienced inflation of 1.66 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 111.91.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in indexes in the eight contest groups. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in the index from the highest was the transportation group by 12.15 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.26 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.43 percent; personal care group by 0.37 percent; health group by 0.07 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.06 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.02 percent; and the clothing and footwear group by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, one expenditure group experienced a decrease in index, namely the recreation, sports and culture group by 2.15 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services group as well as the education group experienced very small index changes so that they did not contribute significantly to inflation.
The inflation rate for the calendar year up to September 2022 is 4.83 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2022 to September 2021) is 5.20 percent.
