Singkawang Municipality has an deflation of 0,55 percent on August 2022

In August 2022, Singkawang City experienced a deflation of 0.55 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 110.08.

Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the index in the two expenditure groups. The expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.92 percent and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, eight expenditure groups experienced an increase in index, namely the education group by 1.61 percent; personal care group by 0.51 percent; transportation group by 0.30 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.23 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.16 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.15 percent; health group by 0.08 percent; and recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.06 percent. Meanwhile, the group of food and beverage providers/restaurants experienced a very small change in the index so that it did not contribute significantly to deflation.

The inflation rate for the calendar year up to August 2022 is 3.12 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2022 against August 2021) is 3.92 percent.
