This morning (27/2), Head of BPS Social Statistics of Kalimantan Barat Province, Sari Mariani and Chair of the Kalimantan Barat Provincial Population Coalition, Meiran Panggabean was the speaker at the Equator Dynamics Interactive Dialogue at RRI Pro 1 Pontianak's Siar Studio 104.2 FM.
The dialogue led by RRI broadcaster Vico Alhadi lasted 60 minutes and raised the theme: The Importance of Population Census Data in determining development planning in Kalimantan Barat. Of the several incoming calls, more people questioned about the direct effect that the community received after they took part in the Population Census, because some people still thought that the Population Census or Survey conducted by BPS was always directly related to social assistance.
Meiran said, "Please understand that this Population Census is not a giver of hope to get help, but it records population data to be used by the government to determine the direction of development policy. When in the future data collection is found that the economic conditions of the people are weak or need to be assisted, then this data will be a source of data for other Departments / Institutions that handle it. For that give the real answer. "
Meiran also added, "From the data user side, we must thank the government cq. BPS with the Population Census will get updated population data which is very useful for determining the direction of policy and development plans to be carried out by the government ".
At the end of the dialogue Sari Mariani said that "Data confidentiality and security have been guaranteed by law and BPS has cooperated with the Cyber and State Coding Agency and obtained a security assurance certificate in the 2020 Online Population Census."
